Import Data - SAR Spaceborne - Umbra SICD

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Purpose

Original products, provided in SICD format (Sensor Independent Complex Data, imaging data format used by U.S. government), are imported into the SARscape Data Format for further processing.

Technical Note

Only Single Look Complex data, containing a real and an imaginary component, are supported (Phase + Module complex products are not yet supported).

In some cases, inaccuracies have been reported when these data are geocoded using the nominal orbital parameters (without GCPs); therefore the use of a ground control point could be needed in order to achieve a precisely georeferenced image.

Polar format data (PFA) in SICD format are managed in the following functionalities:

Import

Sample Selection

Multilooking

All speckle filters

Geocoding

Coregistration

Intensity Time Series

Single- and Multi-temporal coherence (including new Non-Local estimator)

Interferometric DEM generation

Polarimetry

SARscape is built against the six-library version 3.1.6, which currently supports SICD formats 0.3.1, 0.4.0, 0.4.1, 0.5.0, 1.0.0, 1.0.1, 1.1.0, 1.2.0, and 1.2.1.

Supported Products

SLCSingle Look Complex

Observation modes

SP        Spotlight

SM        Strimap

Extended dwell

Scanning

Input Files

Input file list

Input file name(s) of the original data (_SICD.nitf). These files are mandatory.

Output file list

Output file name(s) of the imported data. These files are mandatory.

Input Parameter(s)- Principal Parameters

Update using GMTED2010

This flag allows using the GMTED2010 height for optionally correcting the scene central point (SCP) of polar format data (PFA) in SICD format.

Fill dummy during import

Possibility to replace invalid backscatter pixel values with random low values.

Rename The File Using Parameters

If set to true, only relevant information will be copied from the input name(s) to the output name(s), otherwise.

Parameters - Global

It brings to the general section of the Preferences specific parameters. Any modified value will be used and stored for further processing sessions.

Parameters - Other Parameters

It brings to the general section of the Preferences parameters. Any modified value will be used and stored for further processing sessions.

Output Files

Output file list

Output file name(s) of the imported data. These files are mandatory.

_slc

Single Look Complex data and associated header files (.sml, .hdr), except for Sentinel that creates an slc_list.

Details specific to the Units of Measure and Nomenclature of the output products can be found in the Data Format section.

General Functions
