Overlay Annotations

This topic describes how to add annotations to plots or images that are displayed in an ENVI Classic display group. See Annotations for the recommended method to creating annotations in ENVI.

For complete details on using the Annotation dialog, refer to the topic "Annotating Images and Plots" in the ENVI Classic Help. Here are some basic steps for adding annotations:

  1. The Annotation dialog appears with the current annotation mode; Text is the default mode. Select the display group Window you want to use for adding the annotation. The choices are Image, Scroll, and Zoom. To disable annotation mode, select Off.
  2. From the Annotation dialog menu bar, select Object > annotation_type. Where annotation_type is one of the following:
  3. Annotation characteristics and mouse button functions vary, depending on the annotation type you select.
  4. Use the colored diamond-shaped handle to move the annotation to another location as needed.
  5. Right-click to accept the annotation placement.
