Import Data - SAR Spaceborne - Import SIDD

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Purpose

Basic support of the SIDD format is now provided. SIDD files are geocoded/calibrated 8 bit data, with a scaling transformation between the original calibrated values and the 0-255 range. SIDD files are mainly used to produce final output information for reporting/informative goals: due to this aspect, any further processing is very limited.

Technical Note

SIDD are geocoded / calibrated 8 bit data, with a scaling transformation between the original calibrated values and the 0-255 range that is not annotated (the original meaning of the backscatter value of each pixel is lost). Any real further processing is hence blocked, beside maybe some speckle filtering, but already change detection is not really feasible.

SARscape is built against the six-library version 3.1.6, which currently supports SIDD formats 1.0.0, 2.0.0, and 3.0.0.
