Purpose
This panel enables to set the location of some directories, which are used for storing or retrieving files during the data processing.
Technical Note
Working Directory
Three possible cases, where it makes sense to change the default working directory, are foreseen:
1.When the software is operated by users without administration privileges (in this case the working directory must be located in a folder with "writing" privileges).
2.To avoid overwriting processing related data, when more users operate SARscape on the same computer.
3.When more processing steps have to be executed in parallel on the same computer.
It is possible to remove the files stored within this folder.
The DORIS (Doppler Orbitography and Radiopositioning Integrated by Satellite) precise orbits can be used as input - in some cases they are mandatory (e.g. data focusing) - for processing ENVISAT ASAR data. If the relevant DORIS files are already stored in the computer, they will be automatically retrieved by the program. For this purpose the DORIS files must be available in one of the following two folders within the DORIS directory:
-VOR for verified orbits. These are the most precise ones, but they are made available not earlier than one month after the actual satellite acquisition.
-POR for precise orbits. These are slightly less precise than the verified ones, but they are made available on the ASAR acquisition date.
The path provided as "DORIS Directory" must correspond to the folder which contains both the "VOR" and "POR" directories.
The PRC or PRL precise orbits can be used as input - in some cases they are mandatory (e.g. data focusing in ENVISAT format) - for processing ERS-1 and ERS-2 data. If the relevant orbit files are already stored in the computer, they will be automatically retrieved by the program. For this purpose the orbit files must be available in one of the following two folders within the "PRC/PRL directory":
-ERS1 for ERS-1 data.
-ERS2 for ERS-2 data.
The path provided as "PRC/PRL Directory" must correspond to the folder which contains both the "ERS1" and "ERS2" directories.
PRC and PRL files can be applied only on ERS data in ENVISAT format and CEOS ESA format.
The Sentinel 1 precise Orbit Files can be used as input for importing Sentinel 1 data. If the relevant Orbit files are already stored in the computer, they will be automatically retrieved by the program. For this purpose the Orbit files must be available in one of the following two folders within the SENTINEL-1 directory:
-POD Precise Orbit Ephemerides (to be stored in a directory called AUX_POEORB inside the SENTINEL-1A folder). These are the most precise ones, but they are made available within 21 days from GNSS downlink, one file per day is generated. Each file covers 26 hours (one complete day plus 1 hour before the start and after the end of the day – overlap of two hours between consecutive files) and contains OSVs at time steps of 10 seconds intervals (accuracy < 5 cm rms).
-POD Restituted Orbit (to be stored in a directory called AUX_RESORB inside the SENTINEL-1A folder) for precise orbits. These are slightly less precise than the verified ones, but they are made available on the ASAR acquisition date. the file is generated within 3 hours from reception of GNSS data in the POD ftp server. One file is generated for every data dump. The file coverage is one satellite orbit, from ascending node ANX plus an overlap of 593 OSV before the satellite orbit time span. The OSVs frequency is 10 seconds (accuracy < 10 cm rms).
The path provided as "SENTINEL-1" must correspond to the folder which contains both the "AUX_POEORB" and "AUX_RESORB" directories.
This local repository can be populated and kept up to date with the proper SARscape download tool. Please make sure you have enough disk space, the dimension of the repository will be around 5 GB (Oct 2016).
Batch file name
In order to avoid the accidental removal of previously saved batch file/s, it is suggested to set this folder using a path which is not the same as the one selected for the "Working Directory".
Parameters - Directories and batch file name
Working Directory
Various processing files (e.g. Process.log and Process.trace files) are saved in the working directory. The original default setting is "SARMAP SA\SARscape x.x.xxx\work"; any other specific location can be set.
SRTM-3 DEM Directory
It is possible to set a specific folder where the SRTM-3 Digital Elevation Model tiles (compressed files), which are downloaded from the internet, are stored. The original default setting is "SARMAP SA\SARscape\work\SRTM_DEM_DIR".
SRTM-1 DEM Directory
It is possible to set a specific folder where the SRTM-3 Digital Elevation Model tiles (compressed files), which are downloaded from the internet, are stored. The original default setting is "SARMAP SA\SARscape\work\SRTM1_V3".
DTED DEM DIRECTORY
It is possible to set a specific folder where DTED (compressed files), which are downloaded from the internet, are stored. The original default setting is "SARMAP SA\SARscape\work\DTED".
ALOS World 3D 30m DEM directory
It is possible to set a specific folder where the ALOS World 3D Digital Elevation Model tiles (compressed files) at resolution of 30 m, which are downloaded from the internet, are stored. The original default setting is "SARMAP SA\SARscape\work\ALOS World 3D Digital Elevation Model".
GTOPO30 Directory
It is possible to set a specific folder where the GTOPO30 Digital Elevation Model tiles (compressed files), which are downloaded from the internet, are stored. The original default setting is "SARMAP SA\SARscape\work\GTOPO30_DEM_DIR".
ACE Directory
It is possible to set a specific folder where the ACE Digital Elevation Model tiles (compressed files), which are downloaded from the internet, are stored. The original default setting is "SARMAP SA\SARscape\work\ACE_DEM_DIR".
DORIS Directory
A specific folder is set, where the program look for the required DORIS file.
Sentinel-1 auxiliary Directory
A specific folder is set, where the program look for the required Sentinel-1 orbit file.
PRC/PRL Directory
A specific folder is set, where the program look for the required ERS precise orbit files.
A specific folder is set, where the program look for the required RADARSAT-2 precise orbit files (.orb).
A specific folder is set, where the program stores and retrieves the batch processing list.
